Review of Jade Soft Silicone Cups from Lierre

Updated: Aug 18, 2019

This Montreal based e-commerce company has been in business since 2008. In 2017, they released their Jade Soft cups as an alternative to the harder cups that available. These were at the time the softest cups on the market, due to the raw materials used to make these cups. The softer platinum cured silicone makes these cups remarkably flexible and stretchable. Lierre has both an online store and a physical store. So if I lived in or around Montreal, this would be my first stop for cupping equipment. There you will find demos of all of their cups to touch, test and decide which one is right for you. Ordering online is great if you know what you want, but cups are expensive so it only makes sense to buy in store if you have the option of doing so. Hopefully with the increasing demand for cupping, more companies will follow suite. Lierre also advocates for High level disinfection of cupping equipment, which shows that they aspire to the highest standards of practice. Customer service is also top notch. I would highly recommend buying a minimum of two sets for each cup as this allows you to use them for different techniques.

These cups are equally beautiful and functional. Most colored cups are not still transparent enough to observe the tissue under the cup. These let you do just that. These are so far my favorite colored cup, and I'll be honest I'm a sucker for a pretty cup. The softness of these cups make them ideal for manual therapists with arthritis, and or for those just starting out with cupping. I see cups the same way I see kids car seats. A car seat is only as good as its installation. These cups are so easy to compress and get the air out that you can get maximum suction every time (when you're ready for it). They are ideal for moving and dynamic cupping as they hug the bodies curves and really stay put when mobilizing the clients body. They don't hold their shape as well as a harder cup for but that's what makes these cups so great at moving over bony structures. Static application of these cups would be indicated for clients who require less suction. These cups come in different sets with different price points, but you can also buy them individually which is great if you need a specific size.

I love the large one for work along the erector spinae and lamina grove. It has become my secret weapon when treating multifidus and rotatores. The standard one is great for leg and arm work. Despite feeling harder then the two tier cups these body cups mold very well to the body and have some serious suction. You can mold the cup easily once its on the body and they fit your hand perfectly. I'll be honest, I wasn't a big fan of these types of cups until I played with these Jade Soft cups. I may need more.

Check out these great charts that Lierre made to help you know where to use your Jade Soft cups. With permission I have included pictures of the Jade Soft cups to show the true color of these cups. My photos show more of a turquoise color and I do not want to misrepresent these beautiful green cups.
