Review of International Cupping Therapy Association (ICTA) Glass Cups
Updated: Sep 21, 2019
ICTA offers the largest selection of glass cups that I have yet to come across. These cups can be purchased individually, several sets at a time or as a complete set. I recommend the complete set as every cup in your toolbox is a cup waiting to help someone. These are high quality cups, you can not go wrong with any of them.

The thick-walled glass adds weight and durability to these cups. These cups offer more suction than a silicone cup, so you are able to work on areas that are really difficult to do with a silicone cup. I like the large cup for chest and anterior neck work. Its also a nice size for working with TMJ issues. The medium sized cup is good for the laugh lines that run perpendicular to the mouth. The small cup is good for under the eye and under the orbital bone. The oval shaped cup is by far my favourite of this set. It's amazing for working in the corner of the nose, along the nose and anywhere where you want to be really specific in your work. I really like the oval-ish shape of the bulbs as they fit nicely in your hand. I should mention that these cups were designed to not be separated. This means that you can not remove the glass from the rubber bulb when cleaning and disinfecting. It is advised that if you try to separate them do not use a lateral force and be aware that you may break the cup trying. This then makes the cups more appropriate for individual use and not in a clinical environment on multi people.

These cups may be too large to use on the face, but they are really good to treat areas that compliment the face. These are my go-to cups for chest work as the three sizes fit most anyone. They are also really good for anterior neck work. The small sized cup fits perfectly around the mastoid process and helps release a chronically shortened SCM. It feels wonderful along the zygomatic arch and is also great for work along the occipitals. Don't get me wrong, these cups are easily applicable anywhere on the body. You can separate the glass cup from the rubber bulb to clean and disinfect accordingly.

These are very unique cups and every therapist would benefit from having these cups in their toolbox. These are my favourite cups to release hypertonic scalenes. They are also super efficient at treating the intercostals. I also love these to treat scars. I have one on my forehead in between my eyebrows and these are the only cups that I am able to use to work on it. I absolutely love these cups. You can separate the glass cup from the rubber bulb to clean and disinfect accordingly.
